Motion

A short explanation of the 6 degrees of freedom principle. Herewith a table wich will hopefully clarify. As you see, all 6 degrees of freedom are used in racing.

Roll (rotational), curbes, banking, corner G-force (sustained)

Heave (vertical), bumps, curbes, rumble, vibrations.

Pitch (rotational), acceleration, deceleration/braking (sustained), bumps

Surge (longitudinal), accelaration, braking (onset), collision.

Yaw (rotational),oversteer, understeer, slip

Sway (lateral) slip (4 wheel), cornering (onset)

6 Degrees Of Freedom (DOF)

Shown here is a 6 DoF electrical motion platform. Electrical for high speeds and accelerations, high frequencies, low maintanance and ease of installation. 'Plug and play', no oil, no air, no hydraulics, no pumps.

Complete GP simulator with 6DOF motion platform, Force Feedback, full size 1:1 F1 car, 3 overhead projectors with edge blending, 180 degrees surround screen, Hifi sound system, etc. etc.
